A study of the awesome machinery, found at a bird reserve in Yorkshire. The walking dragline was an integral part of the open cast mining which took place on this site before it was accidentally flooded. The scale of it is like a great ship marooned inland, presiding over reed beds and lakes. And all around it, fly rare and more common species of birds and insects.
