The Old Year
I have been looking at the work of William Morris and allowed it to seep into my abstract paintings. The paintings are delicate and layered, and give hints of the shape of flowers and leaves, which then seem to become ephemeral. I am playing on the idea of the colour field, which is influenced by studying the palette of Morris, and then allowed to wander where it will.
Acrylic paint, on primed and gessoed gallery wrapped canvas over a deep wooden stretcher frame. The sides of the canvas are painted, so there is no need to frame the painting, and hanging fixtures will be supplied with the work, making it ready to hang. The painting has been treated with coats of matte acrylic varnish to protect the surface.

Paintings will be sent to you unframed, (unless otherwise stated in the description) and protected with cellophane or paper, in a re-enforced padded envelope or recycled box, on a Tracked Delivery service with the Royal Mail or Parcel Force International for large items.
