As an infant the North Bar terrified me, a formidable fortress of mediaeval proportions that blocked the way from home to the dual delights of the ice cream shop and the toy car shop that lay just beyond. It is still one of my favourite views of my home town, an elegant blend of Georgian and faux tudor. The view is rich in detail and it is a bright and cheering work. A perfect souvenir of Beverley.
This colourful, cheerful work is a wonderful addition to any collection Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.
