The New Scene of Van Eyden is a contemporary homage to Anthonie van Eyden’s The Card Players. Here, the classic trio around a round table transforms into a dialogue between reality and digital selfhood. The artist’s self-portrait, his avatar, and the portrait of the avatar’s partner appear together for the first time — three reflections of one consciousness, frozen in a calm yet charged moment.
Each figure carries its own psychology: curiosity, serenity, quiet tension. They do not play cards, but the game persists — a mental, emotional, invisible one. The atmosphere invites the viewer to take a seat at the table and feel the subtle rhythm between connection and solitude.
Dutch acrylic paints Amsterdam tm and Italian canvas by Unico were used. The finish is satin varnish, and the edges are painted in the background color. This painting is created on a pre-stretched canvas on a wooden frame. It is carefully packed in a cardboard box with layers of bubble wrap. The artwork is signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
