According to mythology, the Goddess of the Moon is Selene – the Greek word for Moon.
Selene was often referred to as the ‘all seeing eye on the night’, due to the fact that the moon is always visible throughout the night in the sky.

In the artwork I depicted the goddess in human form in a state of sleep and wakefulness.
Just as the Earth reflects the light of the Sun, so man carries within himself the light of reflection from the Moon, which is always with us, inside, like a satellite.
Selene knows all our thoughts and actions, but only we ourselves can decide what to do while we are awake. And during sleep the Moon illuminates our path and sends us dreams, during which we can receive the answers on questions we are asking in our lives..

The moon is always there, overseeing, lighting our way and keeping us company through the darkest of nights.

There’s nothing she hasn’t lived through and seen play out. The moon knows all. She doesn’t judge, she gently comforts and guides us through the dark. Tomorrow is a new day…and she’ll be there for you then too.
