The Meon Railway (2020)Oil painting
by John Welsh
£450
Original artwork description
Hi,
This is another landscape for my March exhibition. It is a local scene of a disused railway line running from Portsmouth to Alton in Hampshire.
I love these grassy scenes where nature has run wild but some mark of mankind is left.
The hand left side of the scene was where a railway siding existed. Legend has it, that Churchill, Ike and DeGaulle stopped there on the way to Portsmouth before D-Day.
enjoy xx
