I live in Shropshire in the UK it's a beautiful part of the country with wide open landscapes of patchwork green fields and huge glorious skies forever changing, especiall when a storm is brewing. For a long time I've wanted to paint landscapes and since developing a new way of working which enables my painting to be looser and freer I have at last started my landscape journey.
I've used an abstract technique to create the fields and stop me getting too tied down to details, you can see shapes and marks underneath the layers of fields and an almost luminosity has appeared which draws the eye from the moody sky back down to earth.
I have used a mixture of crayon, pencil, pastels, ink and acrylic paint on a 24 x 18inch stretched canvas.
The edges are painted white, it is varnished and ready to hang and would create a wonderfully atmospheric feel to any decor.
