Artist's description:

September is creeping in, and we are about to say "au revoir" to L'Ete.... In my own personal life, a season is coming to an end, and a new season begins... My subject/ muse, Miss Piper Gregory ( My Granddaughter) will be ending her life as an only Child/ Grandchild, and will be adjusting to sharing life with a new Brother.... I've caught Piper's stare, which can be interpreted in several ways, as to what her thoughts are... She is often a serious child; quite intense, and focused... Her piercing blue eyes make it impossible not to be drawn in.... This piece is done in acrylic paints, and Decorative Papers... In some areas ( for example, her flowered Apron) I have combined the paper, and paint, so that while most of the apron is made of Torn Paper, the pocket is painted, imitating the patterned Paper. The leaves are done in the same manner... The trees and flowers create a "Frame" around the Subject, and the edges of the canvas are painted, so that it really does not require adding a Frame....
