Every day, for a few minutes, light passes across this old doorway, making the ageing house glow as if it were young again.
For a moment, time seems to disappear. The weathered walls, the old door and the terracotta pots are filled with light once more.
Perhaps this is why the house is still alive.
It stands and waits, as it has for so many years. Perhaps it will still be standing here a hundred years from now.
Because the light never lets it down.
