This is an intricate still life with a narrative. A bird, attracted by the shiny silver necklace, comes flying in to steal it.
There are many patterns and textures playing off each other in this painting. There is an oriental rug, a red floral drapery, a trailing plant, and a peacock feather as some examples. One of my favorite parts was painting the reflection of the room in the dark blue pot.
