Original artwork description
A cinematic moment frozen in time — a woman standing in shadow, a man lit by the glow of his cigarette, and a red sky blazing beyond. That crimson light is not a sunset but fire — the distant glow of bombardments over Ukraine. Smoke drifts above the horizon, carrying destruction and disbelief.
The two figures seem safe beneath the tunnel’s curve, enclosed in a fragile stillness. Yet they are unaware how close the danger lies — how a single moment could shatter their illusion of safety. This work captures the quiet before impact, the space between awareness and denial, intimacy and devastation.
Dutch acrylic paints Amsterdam tm and Italian canvas by Unico were used. The finish is satin varnish, and the edges are painted in the background color. This painting is created on a pre-stretched canvas on a wooden frame. It is carefully packed in a cardboard box with layers of bubble wrap. The artwork is signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
