Original artwork description
Painting miniatures allows me to work through ideas rapidly. Not having to concern myself with sinking a large amount of time on one piece, I find the process almost liberating. It allows me to experiment with composition, colours and new narratives, with the strong possibility of finding myself in tangents I have not explored before.
Occassionally I may decide to expand upon the idea of one miniture and produce a larger scale painting. However miniatures have their own strengths. They offer an intimate experience between the viewer and the piece, as well as intriquing Insight into the artist's technique.

Oil, gloss varnish
