Original artwork description
I was involved in a group art exhibition/demonstration in The Edinburgh Festival in 2008 which as it's centrepiece was work by an illustrator who had done two of the Harry Potter novel covers, Cliff Wright. I decided to paint a picture that had an element of the Harry Potter novels, a Hippogriff. Having previously visited Edinburgh I chose as the setting Calton Hill that overlooks Edinburgh and placed the Hippogriff rushing towards the city with one of it's hooves touching the top of the monument.
Materials used:
Oil on mdf board, gessoed on both sides.
Details:
- Oil painting on Panel / Board / MDF
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 47 x 47 x 0.6cm (unframed) / 47 x 47cm (actual image size)
- Signed on the front
- Style: Impressionistic
