This original oil on linen painting explores the inner world of a child at the centre of our collective consciousness — the still figure becomes a symbolic anchor for memory, emotion and the vast “world” within us. In soft but evocative tones, the subject’s clothes, posture and the surrounding horizon merge, suggesting that the heart of the world is both intimate and expansive.

In this series, I explore the palette of emotional states a person encounters in childhood by depicting images of young girls and boys.
