THE GULF IN SHADES (STUDIO 11) is a shot from the series "Tuscany waves" from my collection TUSCANY: LAND OF SOUL.

This photograph, with its clear abstract features, was taken over the Gulf of Follonica on a cloudy spring afternoon, at the moment when a few timid rays of sunshine managed to break through the clouds, creating a strange light effect on the water's surface. At the moment of the shot, the horizon line blurred between the sky and the sea, and the atmosphere over the gulf became almost surreal, certainly very unique and evocative.

The Gulf of Follonica (Tyrrhenian sea) is a long sandy creek that develops for several kilometers between the Promontory of Piombino and Punta Ala. This stretch of sea is one of the most beautiful on the Tuscan coast because it is always clear and calm.
