Artwork description
THE GULF IN SHADES (Studio 19) was taken along the Gulf of Follonica at dusk, as the autumn light was dissolving into the horizon.
Here, the scene is defined by a sweeping band of cloud stretching across the sky โ a soft yet dramatic gesture that echoes the darker tones of the distant headland. Between them, the fading light shimmers on the seaโs surface, blurring the boundary between movement and stillness.
I was drawn to this quiet tension between air, land, and water โ the way the shifting light creates a fleeting dialogue of contrast and harmony.
The result is an image suspended between realism and abstraction, where the landscape becomes a meditation on balance and impermanence.
This work brings a sense of depth and quiet strength to any space, particularly those embracing natural tones and minimalist aesthetics.
