Landscape symbolising the idea of a meeting point between humans and nature, leading us towards that which can be felt, our experience of beauty, and possibly even an opportunity to look inward and allow the imagination to take flight.
Heavy in symbolism and structured by its own, private language, the landscape offers itself up for gentle contemplation. Interaction between nature and the artist, extending beyond first impressions: that which is invisible to the naked eye often gives itself up upon a second viewing.

Along this line, the cornerstones of existence are gradually and symbolically mapped.
A linear, horizontal structure represents the idea of travel, characterised by depth and texture, imbued with a sense of light for a dreamlike, melancholic feel, an intimate meeting point where my own impressions rise to the surface.
The painting is underpinned by a three-level structure:
The first is where the heart of the painting exists, often layered over deep colours reminiscent of raw nature, carnal, mineral and sensory in hue.
This is the start of the journey, of my interaction with the canvas: a sense of texture and materiality, ranging from smooth to thick and granular, and experimentation with colour in all its depth, from the sheer to the opaque, the matte to the glossy.
The second part leads the eye away towards a different horizon: the muted softness of watercolours, the cool layered tones that create perspective and depth.
In the third part, the landscape as a whole takes shape, the pure, pristine white is used to create maximum juxtaposition, asserting its role as a contrasting feature between texture and light. Brought to life in its own right, the composition of my own, inner landscape unfurls, and every time I look at it again with fresh eyes, I feel moved, captivated by its presence."
