Thrilled how this new commission piece (now sold) has come together - using the most glorious of palettes in a delicious light to dark ombré effect & integrating gorgeous metallics, sheens, glitters and genuine 24k gold and copper leaf in a palette chosen by my client. A bespoke creation to perfectly fit their space. This is another one that i will sorely miss, its been a joy to create. 🦋

The inspiration of this piece comes from imagining these amazing creature either finally escaping the confines of their chrysalis for their first flight or escaping colder climates on their annual migration to warmer shores, I wanted to convey a sense of both freedom and chaos whist ironically also creating an artwork with a sense of peace and calm.

The 3-dimensional aspect creates beautiful shadows which give the artwork a real sense of movement - a life of its own - and changes throughout the day in changing light situations. I have used gorgeous papers, many with sheens and glitters & multiple 24crt gold leaf butterflies which adds to this effect and gives it sparkle and preciousness.

Fully framed in a white box frame with Plexiglas XT 0A000 manufactured by Rohm. This material is the highest quality available and offers approximately 7 times more UV protection than glass and is shatter proof.
