When I created The Gaze, my goal was to capture more than just the physical form of the horse—I wanted to reveal its inner spirit and emotional depth. There’s something profound in a horse’s eyes, a quiet strength, loyalty, and gentleness that speaks volumes without words.

I used a palette knife and broad brushstrokes with heavy layers of Acrylic paint to bring out the rich texture of the coat and the play of light across its surface. My color choices blend warm and cool tones to create a dynamic tension while enhancing the emotional atmosphere. The dark, moody background, with its mix of greens and blues, was meant to isolate the subject and draw the viewer into its world.

Painting this piece felt like having a silent conversation with the horse. In its gaze, I found a moment of calm, connection, and power.
