ABOUT ME:
Ricardo Antonio Roselló Saus, born in Valencia.
I began painting as a natural way to translate what words could not express: my relationship with landscapes—both natural and urban—and with the passage of time. I found in corrosion a perfect metaphor for transformation rather than decay, and in texture, a way to take that idea beyond the visual, turning it into something that can almost be felt with one's hands.
I continue to explore corrosion as the central theme of my work, though often from a different perspective—one that is more luminous and full of life. I have started introducing more vivid colors that contrast with the roughness of rust and wear, seeking to show that transformation is not merely a process of deterioration, but also one of rebirth. This new palette allows me to discover a warmer, more hopeful beauty within a theme I have always approached with intensity; it opens a new phase in my work where light takes center stage without losing the power of what corrosion represents, and without excluding the ochre and earthy tones I may need for expression.
Likewise, I am constantly seeking new forms of expression. Therefore, the appearance of new colors and shapes should come as no surprise, depending on what I need to convey at any given moment.
My paintings do not depict exact locations, but rather the sensations and memories they leave with me; this allows each person to complete the artwork with their own story. Having sold my pieces across Europe has confirmed to me that this language—born from something so personal—successfully connects with viewers, regardless of their background.
