Botticelli-inspired portrait. The Fate of Venus. 80 cm Tondo.
Artwork created as a tribute to Sandro Botticelli's Birth of Venus, a major work that has often inspired my work. This composition is like a bedside book, and I often return to it with delight, constantly discovering new interpretations.
This Venus has the air of a mermaid, standing on her shell with its graphic lettering in counterpoint to the many fine details created in gold leaf with a slight relief for the jewels.
Acrylic and gilding leaf on canvas mounted on stretcher, varnished, ready to hang. Delivered with certificate of authenticity.
