Original artwork description:

The medium of collage turned out to be a quick way for me to articulate thoughts. Maybe too straightforward, but it doesn't matter to me now. To go beyond the silence that is the result of a traumatic experience. The mind cannot fathom all the horror of the history that is happening now and art gives an opportunity to express what cannot be verbalized.

I am from Ukraine and these collages reflect the terrible events that are happening now.
In June, Russia blew up a dam in Kakhovka, which led to catastrophic consequences for nature. Rivers, seas and oceans are connected and the consequences of this war will affect not only the ecology of Ukraine.

These are analog collages on thick cardboard. They are made from clippings from local Turkish magazines about carefree life and travel. And from photos sent to me by my friends from Ukraine. Sometimes I use photos from the news. Against the background, I add expressive strokes of black acrylic, symbolizing the impossibility of conveying the full range of feelings from the events experienced.
