Original artwork description
To make some sense of the monotony of my days during the recent pandemic, I decided to make a diary using colour to evaluate my moods or thoughts in any one given day to give some sort of outlet of expression outside of imagery - I stripped everything back to a linear form and having a huge passion for the effect of colour on our well being, having studied it as my thesis during university, I used it as a way of hoping to bring positivity and order back into my world.
Every day I took a small area of board and repeated the process daily, putting down stripes of colour to somehow portray my mood at given points throughout that day. After a time, inspite of thinking it would be random and all over the place, it started to knit together in a way I hadn’t anticipated. The colours zing, the seeming disorder became almost orderly, everyday was similar but yet not, it was a process that gave me hope for the crazy beauty it gave me, seeing my days pan out in a way that were not as I envisaged.
