Original artwork description
This drawing is created with colored inks and is part of the series SEA WAVES.
Drawings from the series SEA WAVES are all created after memory or from imagination with the goal to create my own vision of natural phenomenon after a long observation.
Early drawings from the series are more connected with real appearance of natural phenomenon.
The other are more surreal, especially in the field of color. The motif of sea waves becomes the field of different possibilities for expressing my own internal visions.
The Dancing Sea II is a pair with similar drawing The Dancing Sea.
My main art practise is drawing and painting in classic techniques such as graphite, charcoal, ink, pastel, gouache and watercolor which I combine with a modern approach.
Source of my inspiration are mostly natural forms and on the other side ornament as a way of visual expressing of ideas.
Visual characteristic of my work is the cut out composition and the beauty of detail, which is why my drawings have an appearance between image and pattern.
