This is one of my favourite statues ever. It's in the House of the Faun in Pompeii. A survivor of the eruption which decimated the town._x000D_ _x000D_ The faun is a mythological half human–half goat creature. Fauns are often connected to Pan and Greek satyrs, or wild followers of the Greek god of wine and drama, Dionysus._x000D_ _x000D_ Kenneth Clark said about this particular bronze statue: "the pose is light and graceful, the modelling well understood, the general sense of movement admirably sustained"._x000D_ _x000D_ This is what I wanted to convey with my painting.
