This is another of this scene I made this autumn from a slightly different position, this time in line and wash. The October sun was quite weak and some light cloud hung close to the horizon but it was a good day for painting. As usual I started with light pencil sketch to get the layout then added some details with the pen then a wet-in-wet wash for the sky and beach. Once this was dry I added the details of the boats, paraphernalia and fishermen. The scene changes every day as the boat is launched, tractors moved and equipment used. It is only the old derelict crab boats that remain in one place. Please note the picture is 28cm not 26.
Windsor & Newton artist quality watercolours; Cobolt Blue, Light Red, Raw Sienna and Paynes Grey with Pin waterproof ink pen on Not HP Bockingford 200lb paper.
