There's a storm coming; the sky is a backdrop of violet and charcoal cloud. Below, the Saguaros and Joshua Trees stand on guard. Soon, the Arizona desert will burst into bloom and colour but, for now, the palette is green and pale gold against the darkening sky.

This print is part of the Heron Road series - inspired by a year-long road trip along the back roads of North America.

An eight-colour limited-edition reduction linocut, carved and printed by hand from a single block, each colour printed individually.
