Original artwork description:

Landscape of Auvergne, in the very heart of France.

I loved that light which passes through the trees: it is not merely a source of brightness, but an invitation to explore the depth of the forest. The light traverses the path, guiding the gaze in an almost narrative movement that suggests where to head.

I tried to capture all the subtle nuances of green and brown that construct a dialogue between the play of shadow and light.

This painting engages the viewer in a meditation on nature itself, a theme that could evoke a form of romanticism. The trees, in their verticality, seem to frame an intimate scene where the emotion resides in the play of light rather than in human figures.

The painting tells a story of an atmosphere where the everyday blends with the sublime. It is an invitation to enter the work, to linger on the effects of texture, and to let the forest envelop the viewer in its silent murmur.

The white finish of the sides of the canvas allows, if you wish, a hanging without a frame.

Materials used:

This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
