Original artwork description
Original oil painting. I encountered these sheep waiting at a stile whilst I was out walking on the Bwlch mountain, near to my home in the Rhondda. It was early one winter’s morning - the ground frozen and the air blue with cold. I have used a palette of muted oil colours to capture the frosty atmosphere. Even the blue of the sky has a muted, steely tone - reflecting a cold, silent, perfect moment in the Valleys.
