A few years ago, I was lucky enough to get to Argentina, and had the chance to explore the sprawling capital. There is everything from grand boulevards to crumbling alleyways. I came across a cluster of streets full of stalls and dusty shops selling all sorts of bric-a-brac. The walls and brickwork were as interesting as the stalls; the images stayed with me and I have worked up this painting from some sketches and photos I made at the time.
