This painting was inspired by seeing pictures of Vietnamese river boats. I was struck by how effortless and serene the rowers seemed while in control of these quite large boats. I tried to give this a mystical and timeless quality, painting it with hazy green/brown/gold colours.
It is painted on 3mm wood panel, and is framed in a deep profile, black wooden frame, as pictured.
