Original artwork description:

Riddled with angst and tragicomedy, a stack of Amphora vases are perforated by a shining sword. This painting borrows its title from a novel written by Nietzsche regarding the art form of classical Athenian tragedy. The intention was to create a sense of precariousness within the piece and has been created with Ben's trademark poetic use of collaged images and built up from thin layers of paint creating a history within the piece and process of making.

Materials used:

Oil painting on 12 oz cotton canvas.
