London has many ages of architecture sitting together street by street, Victorian public buildings sit alongside 60’s tower-blocks, we often live and work in soulless environments, with harsh materials and disowned spaces, unlooked after hallways, the only warmth is the conversation and good company we share.
The figures in this painting are static, and in their stillness are becoming part of the architecture, the movement of the flying bird animates the scene and the lines, negative spaces and shadows of the building are creating tension between light and dark.
