Original artwork description
I once worked close by, a walk taken almost daily, evenings of pink light and afternoons of grey rain it was always there. The pub dominates the corner, Victorian, impressive, a palace of spirits and hops, the walls imbued by countless tales, evenings of laughter and joy, chatter and murmur. I knew this corner for two decades, catching buses, going home and arriving at work. The pub, solid and permanent, remained an anchor. This small work is full of colour, full of life. It is detailed and solid. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished. Texture has been added to give extra depth. A perfect souvenir of London.
