"The Beautiful Trees No.1" is one of a series of prints that I created in 2019. The image was printed using nine small (7cm x 7cm) plates, inked and lined up in a grid shape, and printed onto Fabriano paper. The paper was then trimmed to a square shape, and dipped into a Suminagashi ink mix twice, in order to create random patterns that resemble the ring pattern seen on trees that have been cut down. The resulting image was then adhered to another larger sheet of Fabriano paper.
