The band played on Tiger Club & Woodoo at Chomp, Bangkok’ is the complete title of the painting.
acrylic colour on Terschelling raw watercolour paper 22 x 30 in., 56 x 76 cm.
This local band was great fun at a small venu in Bangkok ‘Chomp’ , the place is no longer open … an interesting combo of percussions & didgeridoo at the restaurant. Musicians make a lovely subject for me to interpret in my loose and expressionist way, inspired by the band’s music.
Here I used a raw paper, which takes the paint quite differently from a pressed paper. More blotter effect, and the result is rich.
The close up pictures give a better sense of the paint, paper and the brush stroke. Then there’s the work in progress and the photoshoot.
