Original artwork description
I have created this mixed media painting for the Friends of the Earth Bee Cause campaign.
This abstract piece is evoked by the role that bees play in the pollination of plants found in our gardens and countryside along with our crops. However as more and more of the bees natural habitats are lost and dangerous pesticides continue to be used there is an ever increasing risk to the bee population.
A world without bees would have dramatic consequences upon the food chain. Plants pollinated by bees would be lost and in turn the animals which feed on those plants would also disappear. There would no longer be enough food such as fruit and vegetables to sustain the population of the world.
The sides of this artwork are painted white and the painting has been sealed with a matt acrylic varnish. The painting has been fitted with chord ready to hang and is signed on the side.
