With her project Kateryna Bortsova exposes the “animal” beginning of humanity. Artist notes that, no matter how we conceal it behind etiquette, moral principles and rules of conduct, an animal living inside us is about to burst out.
The main message of Kateryna Bortsova’s project is that, despite the cultural, social and other revolutions, we still retained the “hormonal” dependence on our “animal” beginnings; testosterone rules the world. And despite the fact that in today's society there is more gender equality, we are still remain captive to our hormones.
Images from Bortsova’s project appeal to the basic instincts of humanity. With the help of objects and allegory, she reveals the hidden essence of the events taking place in society.
