Testimony of acceptance of changes (2026) Original Oil Painting by Lavi Li

This is a story about a man and his journey. The canyon depicted in the painting is a breathtaking place in the Omani village of Balt Said. From time to time, depending on the rainy season, it fills with sparkling, cool streams that form pools and small waterfalls inside, along which it is difficult but so interesting to make one’s way, stepping from rock to rock in the flowing water. In some years there is no rain, and the path changes—it becomes practically straight. The elderly man pictured here is not just a passerby. He is part of this canyon’s history. He is very old in body but young at heart. Every time he passed through the canyon and met us there, he smiled warmly like a child, and his wrinkles gave his expression an even brighter, more welcoming look. The man crosses this canyon for a reason—it’s his path from home to the plantation, his link between the two places where he spends his life. The canyon changes from season to season, and he has to find new ways to cross it in the rain or, conversely, take the direct route. And he accepts this, thanks God for being a witness to it, and rejoices in every day. This is precisely what I would like to convey to my audience—do not resist change, but accept it with an open heart, and you will surely find peace.
