While working on Terrain of Memory, I found myself reflecting on how certain places stay with us long after we have left them. Over time, details fade, but impressions remain, colors, pathways, shifting light, and the emotional resonance of being there.
As the painting evolved, it began to feel less like a constructed composition and more like a landscape recalled through memory. The forms emerged intuitively, gathering into layers that suggest traces of terrain rather than a literal view. I was interested in how fragmented elements could come together to evoke something familiar yet impossible to locate precisely.
For me, Terrain of Memory is about the way experiences accumulate and shape our internal landscapes. Within Syntax, it reflects the idea that memory, like abstraction, is never fixed. It is continually rearranged, reconstructed, and rediscovered over time.
