Are we on the threshold of a new era ?
AI - artificial intelligence is in it’s infancy and is only going to get smarter.
Will this technology be used to enhance, help and sustain the world, humans and their environment, or will it be used to control, dominate and serve the corporations and powerful elites ?
This series of oil paintings started in the Spring / Summer of 2025 conjures images of humans enhanced through technology and intertwined with nature.
They are painted using an old master technique that involves a monochrome under painting in earth tones, then layering coloured glazes on top. The colours have a translucent, luminous quality when finished.
The intention for this series was to create paintings that use a traditional method with a very futuristic subject and create a record for future generations to look back at a time when AI exploded into the art world.
