I Won’t Disappear
Acrylic on canvas
This work was born from my inner experience — from a quiet yet firm decision not to disappear. In moments when a
woman is expected to be convenient, silent, or dissolved into others’ expectations, it became important for me to
capture a state of presence.
I depicted the figure with visible cracks as a metaphor for lived experience, vulnerability, and the memory held by the
body. Gold emerges through these fractures as a symbol of transformation — the way pain and loss can be turned
into value and inner strength. Here, imperfection is not hidden but embraced as an essential part of wholeness.
The lowered gaze is a gesture of turning inward, a moment of stillness and awareness rather than surrender. This is
an image of dignity and inner resilience.
“I Won’t Disappear” is my promise to myself and to the world — a reminder of the right to exist, to take up space,
and to remain visible.
