Tel Aviv is famous for its Modernist heritage, but less well known are the generation of eclectic early twentieth century buildings that went before. When I lived in the city in the 1990s they were barely usable, unloved, rotting at the edges. Now they have mostly been restored to their glory years. I love these houses, exotic and European at once, grandiose and cosy, painted in peach and apricot, bougainvillaea and honeysuckle creeping from wrought iron balconies. The sky is a deep and confident blue, the shadows gathering in the foreground. A lovely souvenir of Tel Aviv and a wonderful addition to any collection of architectural art.

Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.
