'Takoizu' means turquoise in Japanese. This painting was part of a solo exhibition in Rye, England in 2021, called Translations. I was living abroad at the time and was interested in how different the light frequency was. In this painting, I am playing with the way turquoise interacts with other colours, including gold. Nothing exists in isolation and everything is an exchange of energy and/or frequency - perhaps this applies to humans no less than it does to colours.
