This waving, dancing reed, the rustling sound… it’s magic! The landscape around me is such an inspiration to me.
Just one day of sketching offered me enough inspiration for a series of paintings. I created some sketches of pollard trees and reeds near the lake side, a typical Dutch polder landscape. At the studio, preparing my panels I chose some smaller ones to recreate what I had seen. This is one of a series of ten landscapes I created after that day.

This oil painting is made on an artist canvas panel with a dark orange underpainting. I used Gamblin oil paints and cold wax medium, brushes and palet knifes.
The canvas panel is glued to a framework so you can frame the painting in any standard floating frame you like. But this can be undone if you wish it. I also applied an iron thread on the back so it's ready to hang.

Materials used:

Oilpaints and cold wax medium with brushes and palet knife
