This painting was inspired by a trip a few months ago to the Blue Mountains just out of Sydney. I was on one of the Lookouts over the Jamison Valley as the sun sets in the west. I am always fascinated by the fleeting spectrum of colours at this time of the day, over the whole landscape and dramatic clouds. It is a celebration of the day that just ended, with a natural combination of complementary colours.
