This mixed-media painting was inspired by the views across various moorland landscapes when the heather was in full bloom in North Yorkshire and also Scotland . I love the various shades of pink cerise and magenta and how they contrast with the bracken and grasses in these unique landscapes across the British Isles.

I have aimed to capture the sunlight on the layers of the landscape in this painting by using collaged fragments made from many different hand painted pieces of paper, with nearly every piece incorporating a different watermedia technique.

Please note that although this painting is being sold unframed to keep shipping prices down, it is currently professionally framed in a deep white frame incorporating museum quality non-reflective 'ArtGlass' as shown in some of the photos.
The artwork was 'float-mounted' with the edges left raw/uncut to enhance the layered effects.
