A textured deep impasto palette knife painting in oil by an award winning San Francisco Bay artist, featuring the view out over the ocean framed by summer sunflowers, in Big Sur, California.
If you've been lucky enough to drive down the Pacific Coast in Big Sur, you'll never forget the caress of the coastal breeze, the majestic cliffs, the crash of wild surf, and the visual feast of flowers and evergreens as the Los Padres forest greets the ocean in this magical California paradise.
Many of my paintings are inspired by Big Sur, and I particularly love sunflowers! I love the way the more muted undertones in this painting cause the flowers to pop in a vibrant blaze of color!
