I am always drawn to paintings of water at night, as there is something that I find deeply calming and tranquil about these scenes. This piece is an amalgam of rememberings of accumulated images, capturing the last flash of a setting sun in the inky sky of a northern landscape.

The piece is painted using exceptional quality Old Holland and Winsor and Newton Artists' series oil paints and mediums with the highest ratings of permanence and light-fastness on a fine grain fully-archival canvas panel measuring 24cm by 30cm, which will fit a wide variety of off-the-shelf frames.
