On a hot Sunday, two people relax on the grass in Amsterdam's Vondelpark. Luckily, the worst of the day's heat is ebbing and in the shadow of the trees is some coolth. I based the work on my own photography of that day, and I was struck at how much the view reminded me of a 19th century French scene. The work is on a 0.4 inch deep canvas and can therefore hang without the need for further framing.
